Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg issues a stark warning on
climate change at the United Nations on 23rd September 2019.

“We are in the beginning of a mass extinction,” young Greta chided,
“and all you can talk about is money,
and fairy tales of eternal economic growth!”
“How dare you!”

The empty words of a future stolen,
With platitudes and some clever slogans.
Hungry still hungry.
Greedy still greedy.
The skies above know we don’t really care ‘ bout each other,

The floods and droughts and the blazing forests,
‘Natural Cycles,’ they sing in chorus.
Loggers still logging.
Drillers still drilling.

Consequences of damage done, undo the home we live upon.
